Interim Head of School2018-19 school year
On behalf of our entire community of faculty, staff, coaches, students, alumni, and families, welcome to Bosque School.
Since our founding in 1994, Bosque School has grown from an idea around a dining room table to a blossoming 45-acre campus full of community members who believe strongly in our core values of scholarship, community and integrity. Over the past 24 years, nearly 1,000 students have graduated from Bosque School and taken on the world through higher education and rich, meaningful work and life experiences.
Bosque challenges traditional education by providing an inquiry-based approach, where students tackle solutions to complex problems through research and discovery. Our goal is to help students develop problem-solving and critical-thinking skills that will last a lifetime, while encouraging creativity and expression through a strong cross-curricular approach, encompassing varying disciplines of study.
Our dedicated and innovative faculty embraces progressive methods of teaching to capitalize on their students' innate curiosity and to challenge them through immersive course study and interactive activity. 75% of our teachers have advanced degrees in their chosen discipline.
Bosque School is one of only a few school in the region that hosts a full range of community engagement programs in which faculty, staff, students, and alumni are involved as scholars, citizen scientists, leaders, and mentors. These programs include the Service Learning program, the Bosque Ecosystem Monitoring Program (BEMP), the Sofia Center for Professional Development, Horizons Albuquerque at Bosque School, and Bosque Summer. We pride ourselves on our signature grade-level inquiry and research projects, including the Senior Thesis and Colloquium, where students are fully engaged in working with experts in areas of their interest.
Over the years, Bosque’s students—artists, actors, musicians, scholars, poets, and athletes—have earned numerous state, district, and metro area titles and honors. Our graduating classes are earning more than $6 million in merit scholarships to colleges and universities worldwide. Most importantly, faculty and students are challenging themselves to maintain and improve upon our strong belief and understanding in how we approach diversity, equity, and inclusivity in our community.
Bosque School awards approximately $3.4 million in need-based financial aid to 55% of our students each year. We are committed to making Bosque an inclusive and socio-economically diverse community of learners.
No matter where you look on our 45-acre campus, you will see students, faculty, staff, and families living our core values of scholarship, community, and integrity. We believe strongly that living these values allows us to celebrate our differences, challenge our assumptions as we learn from each other and from our local, national, and international communities.
Thank you for exploring our website. We invite you to visit our campus in person to see the benefits of a Bosque experience for yourself.
