Archery
The inaugural archery team, with twenty-three middle school archers and two upper school junior coaches, is off to a great start. Archers competed well in the first Cardinal Tournament. We are looking so forward to hosting the Bobcat Tournament on Saturday, February 11.
Middle School Basketball
The middle school girls Team 2 basketball team finished out an amazing season by winning the APIAL championship game after beating out Albuquerque Academy for the win. Congratulations, Bobcats!
The boys middle school basketball Team 1 played phenomenally in “pool play.” The boys played four games and scored 155 points total, with only 27 points scored against them. Our regular season schedule is out, and we will be going up against Albuquerque Academy, Hope, and St Mary’s in division two. We have four games at Bosque this year, so if you want to attend a game, the boys would love the crowd!
The middle school boys basketball Team 2 has also had a great start to their season! Players have developed their individual skills and learned to run inbounds plays, create three-point shot opportunities, and set up fast breaks. During the preseason, the team went up against much older competition and learned how to implement game plans in high-speed gameplay. As the regular season gets underway, the team will be putting all of this to work in a successful and fun season.
Upper School Girls Basketball
The girls basketball team has had so much fun playing in tournaments throughout the pre-season. Seniors Sofia and Emma have become great leaders this year as we start to compete in district play. We have many strong young athletes who are stepping up to the challenge and playing key moments in our games. We are very proud of all the hard work and dedication from everybody as we compete for our spot in district play. Thank you for supporting us!
Upper School and 8th-grade Boys Basketball
The boys basketball program is starting off strong! Our C-team, which is made up of all 8th graders, is working hard and getting better every day. Our JV team won their first game at East Mountain last night, coming from behind in the fourth quarter. Our varsity team is 11-5 on the season and 1-0 in the district.
A highlight of the season has been beating defending state champs and first-ranked Robertson last week. The team is led in scoring by Kyle ‘24 (20.1) and Cooper ‘24 (18.4). Cooper also leads in rebounds (8.8), and Ezra ‘23 (4) and Kyle (3.3) lead in assists. We won our first district game against East Mountain and are poised to make a run at the district and state championships this year.
Esports
The esports team, with a record number of twenty-two gamers, is ready for an awesome season! So far, we're just getting kids comfortable with the games and starting to talk about dividing into teams of either Super Smash Brothers or Rocket League. Our competitive season begins in two weeks, and we are excited!
Swimming
The swim team is doing great! We just had a meet last Saturday, and we are at the halfway point in the season. Kudos to our Bobcats for their hard work! We are seeing great improvements and lots of enthusiasm.
