With Sincere Appreciation

The fall semester always seems like a whirlwind as we excitedly welcome students back to campus, celebrate with our community during homecoming and Fall Fiesta, attend athletic and performing arts events, and student activities and clubs get up and running. Before long, the leaves in Sanchez Park begin to change colors and fall, and we find ourselves once again in the chaos of the holiday season. Amidst the busyness of the season, I hope you all take time to reflect, to share, and to express gratitude.

On campus, the Philanthropy and Marketing & Communications team have been hard at work putting together the annual report for the 2021-22 school year. We can’t wait to share this beautiful publication with you in the coming weeks. While this project is a large undertaking during an already busy time, the act of compiling milestone stories from the previous year, formatting donor and volunteers lists, and combing through photos is a practice of gratitude in itself. Not only is this an opportunity to thank the many community members who contributed to another successful year in service of our mission and students, but it’s also a moment of reflection. For me, it’s the reminder of our annual accomplishments, everything from National Hispanic Scholars, Aldo Leopold Writing contest winners, and state finals, to the triumphant return of some of our most beloved in-person traditions. To think that this was only Bosque School’s 27th school year, makes these already incredible achievements even more remarkable. We truly could not have done it without the myriad contributions from community members both on and off campus. As Dr. Barrie shared in her convocation address this year, Bosque School is the little engine that CAN.

We are also deep in preparations for our upcoming It Takes a Village Day takin place on November 22, and our Alumni Holiday Party on December 17. Both of these events provide us with the opportunity to open up our campus to those who may have never been here, or those who have been removed for several years. Recognizing that it takes a village to raise a child, It Takes a Village Day is open to any adult who has had a significant impact on a student’s life. Details about the event are shared within this issue of the Bosque Buzz, and I encourage you to invite those members of your child’s circle to this fun-filled event so that they can experience firsthand the magic of Bosque School. I also encourage all alumni—particularly those who haven’t been to campus in recent years—to attend the Alumni Holiday Party. We can’t wait to share what has been going on at Bosque School, and we look forward to hearing about all of the updates in your life!

To every member of our Bobcat community, thank you for all that you do to support our mission and to make this school the amazing place that it is. I am so grateful for the parts you play and look forward to gathering and celebrating with you in the weeks to come. Additionally, I wish you, your family, and your friends a happy, warm, and restful holiday season.
