Staffulty Highlight: Mark Giesmann

Director of College Counseling 
Mark Giesmann joined Bosque School as the director of college counseling in 2019 and has worked in education for more than 20 years as a teacher, counselor, and adjunct university professor. In his free time, Mark loves to spend time outdoors and travel. In addition to traveling extensively throughout the United States, Mark has been to 30+ countries and has visited more than 200 college campuses throughout the U.S. and abroad.  

What is your favorite weekend activity? 
“I love to travel and have been to all 50 states. I try to get away as often as I can on weekends, if only to the mountains right here in New Mexico.” 

Do you have any pets? 
“I have two dogs that we regularly bring to campus, Denver, and Diego. We also have six chickens.”

What is your favorite book? 
A Separate Peace by John Knowles.”

What would you tell a family who is considering Bosque School?
“If you come to Bosque, I look forward to helping you discover some great colleges where you could be happy and successful.”

What is your motto in life? 
“It gets better.”
