Middle School
In cross country, Audrey ‘28 is undefeated, winning every race so far this season!  She leads the JV team who has been running faster and achieving new personal records (PRs) every week. Aidan ‘26 was the course champion at the St. Pius Invitational leading the varsity boys to notable finishes.

The golf team plays every Saturday, and last week they played at Arroyo del Oso golf course which is considered a tough course with features including large greens, rolling fairways, three water-hole obstacles, and sand traps. Tas ‘27 scored an impressive team low at 55, followed by CJ ‘26 at 65, and Joaquin ‘27 at 66. Let’s continue to cheer on this hard-working team this Saturday at Los Altos!

The last 2 weeks have been fantastic for our middle school soccer team with five wins in a row, including a St. Charles shut-out of 4-0. *Layla ‘27 scored two goals to win the game with team captain Gael ‘27 leading the wall of defenders. Looks like this indefatigable team will be the number one seed in the upcoming playoffs! 

In tennis, Dane ‘28 who is ranked first in singles, and Owen C.  ‘28 who is ranked second in singles, are leading a record number of players in the program. Carson M. ‘27 and Malia ‘28, the third-ranked doubles team, had an amazing 2-hour match with the entire team cheering them on, finally winning 6-4 in the third set against Desert Ridge Middle School which secured the team win.

This week in volleyball, teams 2 and 3 had an incredible play to sweep St. Mary’s Belen and St. Thomas Aquinas in two games each. Team 2 captain Lucy ‘27 and teammate Amber ‘27 (hitting a jump serve to win the match) led this persevering team with positivity and excitement. Team 3 captains Lexi ‘28 and Mila Tittmann ‘28 are leading a super enthusiastic team as well. Team 1 battled first-ranked Eastern Hills, losing in two games but learning quite a bit with captains Azlynn ‘26 and Allison ‘26 as positive leaders.  

Upper School
Upper school cross country is competing in tough courses all over the state, including Grants, Laguna-Acoma, and Rio Rancho. Our harriers are achieving personal records every weekend! Led by Kate ‘25, who has placed in the top five of every meet so far, the girls varsity team has been formidable with second-place team finishes in big meets.  Our varsity boys, led by Gray ‘26, continue to put in their best efforts.

Fall golf kicks off on Monday, October 4 at the Albuquerque Academy Invitational. Led by state contenders Tahir ‘22 who placed sixth in the state last year and Lauren Buffett ‘22 who placed fourth in the state last year, the golf team is looking forward to a super fall season.

Girls soccer is on a winning streak. They have won their first three district games! Pre-season preparation playing the two best teams in the state has proven a winning formula. Elia ‘26 has over 60 saves with teammate Ainsley ‘25 at center-mid playing every minute of every game and spearheading this amazing team.  

Boys soccer won their last three district games with brilliant play by team captain Davis ‘22 who is leading this phenomenal team. Myles ‘24, as keeper, has stepped up with over 70 saves and making key powerful dives. Being pre-season Aztec tournament team champions has set this industrious team up for success!

Volleyball had an exciting pre-season capped off with the consolation championship in the Sandia Prep tournament (playing defending state champions Robertson and Los Alamos). The varsity girls are ready for district play. The first district game is this Saturday at home against Menaul School with JV beginning at 11:00 am followed by varsity at noon.
