Bobcats Continue to Thrive In Fall Athletics

Bosque Bobcats are thriving in sports!

The upper school cross country team hosted 16 other high school teams at the Bobcat Invitational on homecoming day with the varsity girls team finishing as runner-up champions and outrunning district-rival East Mountain High School. Kate ‘25 was the top harrier for the girls finishing in an impressive third place overall. Homecoming day continued to be triumphant for the Bobcats with the upper school volleyball C-team, JV team, and varsity team beating Tohatchi High School in straight sets.

After the weekend’s festivities, the boys and girls varsity soccer teams hosted Robertson High School. The very physical play combined with the 100-degree heat made for challenging games on Wood and Weber Fields with the boys prevailing in a fantastic 2-1 win. The girls made a mighty effort with a 1-1 tie in regulation but lost 1-2 in an exciting overtime.

During homecoming week, the Bobcats hosted their very first middle school soccer game in two years. Our mighty co-ed team lost a close one with a final score of 6-7, but everyone remarked what a fun game it was and what a super way to begin the season.

Cross country hosted the very first middle school meet with our JV girls and varsity boys teams coming across the tape as the team champions.

Our golf team came out strong, driving and putting at our home course, Ladera, with our top golfers, Andres ‘27 and Tas ‘27, shooting a remarkable 55.

Middle school tennis competitions begin this Friday with a record number of tennis players on the team.

Lastly, led by 10-year veteran coach Brigitte Foster, the middle school volleyball teams are just beginning their competitive seasons. With record numbers of volleyballers averaging 16 players per team with 3 teams, everyone is getting great playing time and having a blast being on a fun team sport.

Keep up the great work and, “Go Bobcats!”
