The final results of the 53rd annual UNM-PNM Mathematics Contest are in, and we are excited to announce that Aldo ‘22 was awarded 4th place among a field of extremely advanced competitors in the 11th grade division! On February 6, Aldo, Imani ‘23, Paolo ‘22, Tahir ‘22, Saskia ‘21, and Victoria ‘21 joined other top finalists from around the state to compete in the final round of the contest which tested students on their formal knowledge of mathematics as well as their math potential and ingenuity. This highly competitive, two-part competition encourages students to pursue mathematics education and includes almost 1,000 students from 55 New Mexico high schools.
Also in February, Bosque School students competed in the American Mathematics Competition (AMC). The AMC 10/12 competition provides an opportunity for high school students from across the country to compete in a series of tests that encourage problem solving skills and mathematical knowledge in high school students. Aldo ‘22 was the top scoring student at Bosque on the AMC 12, followed by Luc ‘22 and Jacob ‘21. On the AMC 10, Julia ‘23 received the top score for Bosque, followed by Felix ‘23 and Kodiak ‘23.
