Make MLK Day a "Day On" of Service
Before winter break, we shared some holiday-time service opportunities for Bosque families. Even though the break is over, there are still upcoming opportunities and ongoing initiatives in which our families can get involved. Instead of thinking about Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Monday, January 18) as a day off of school, consider engaging with your favorite community partner to lend a hand and make it a “day on” of giving back to your community. This list of service options represents Bosque School’s service partners who responded to our request for ways our community can help over winter break and beyond.
A Light in the Night, a nonprofit dedicated to improving the health, safety, and well-being of the men, women, and children of our city's homeless community, is hosting a donation drive this weekend. They seek hygiene products and basic self-care items, including feminine hygiene/period products, new and used sweat/stretchy pants, and new underwear. Drop off your donations on Saturday, January 16, from 11 am–1 pm @ 3131 Candelaria NE Unit #156. This is a AAA U Lock It Self Storage facility located at Richmond and Candelaria.
