After nearly ten years at Bosque School, Anna Rutins will be leaving to return to her public health roots through an exciting professional opportunity.
In February, Ms. Rutins will be joining the Presbyterian Health Services/Community Health Programs team as a Project Manager Associate. In her new role, she will support various outreach efforts in the REACH (Racial and Ethnic Approaches to Community Health) program, which is a national initiative funded by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control). Ms. Rutins was presented with this opportunity unexpectedly, but in light of the pandemic, it’s work that feels particularly important to her at this time.
“This is a bittersweet transition for me,” said Ms. Rutins, Director of Service Learning. “My 9.5 years with the school have brimmed with joy, excitement, personal and professional growth, and love.”
Building Bosque’s Service Learning program was a unique challenge that Ms. Rutins approached with great honor and care. She brought nearly 30 years of experience in education and nonprofit community programs to her work with our community. Through the years, Ms. Rutins led the redesign and implementation of Bosque’s Service Learning program to reflect best practices in the field and current issues, like food insecurity, literacy, people-first language, teen wellness, and student advocacy.
“Working as an educator at Bosque School for almost a decade has fed my heart. Supporting innumerable experiences where students engaged with real-world issues in real-world settings will remain etched in my memory,” Ms. Rutins expressed. “ I was fortunate to be part of an educational community that values service and social justice, which offered tremendous opportunities for both personal and professional growth.”
