Bobcats at All-State

The 2020 All-State Music Festival was held in January, and Bosque School was represented by more than 30 top-notch musicians. Congratulations to all who performed in this prestigious state-wide festival in each musical category.

Ms. Hart knows how much hard work her choir students put into their All-State performances. “It is a huge honor to be selected as only a small percentage of students from around the entire state are chosen. Once selected, students begin preparing high-level choral music and must audition to prove that they have all of the music memorized—a very intense evening right after returning from winter break!”

High school students come together at UNM; middle school students gather at NMSU. Once assembled, they engage in three days of rehearsal which culminates in a packed-house performance.

Bosque senior, Shane, shared how being a part of All-State has impacted him. “I’ve participated in All-State choir throughout middle and high school. It has been hands down one of my favorite experiences in school. Not only am I making new friends and lasting memories, but all while working on interesting and challenging music.”

“Everyone comes out of an All-State choir changed in some way,” said Ms. Hart. “There are opportunities to meet people from all over the state who have the same passion and care for music that you do. Beyond that, you have the opportunity to create music of the highest caliber with a nationally renowned conductor. It is an experience that many will remember for the rest of their lives.” She added, “I know I still remember my own experiences, which is part of why I'm passionate about my students getting to have this opportunity as well.”
It sounds like an incredible experience that our Bosque students will remember for years to come!
