Lexi Grady and Jordan Haitsma joined hands in marriage in South Bend, Indiana, on August 9, 2019. Their nuptials included Bosque alumni, family, and teachers there to celebrate the couple’s big day. Lexi reflected, “The Bosque alumni in attendance were bridesmaids Paige Kempski Lueders '13, Regan Cole '13, Andrea Maestas '13, Grace Riccobene '13, and Lexi’s sister Samantha Grady '11. Other guests included Andres Rivera '13, Bailey Simone '15, and Kristin Salazar-Coffman '07, along with some of the alumni parents. The highlight of the evening was Bosque music faculty Joanna Hart and Nicolle Maniaci performing for the ceremony.
Lexi said, “It is easy to forget about things that are not right in front of you or in your everyday life, but being back together with my Bosque family reminded me of just how much Bosque gave me and that I need to do more to ensure that others get to experience the same joys I did as a student. I look forward to my continued involvement with Bosque School as an alumna."
Jordan and Lexi met while working in the Athletic Department at Notre Dame. Jordan volunteered to work a football game while Lexi was employed there, and the rest is history. Lexi’s career eventually took her to Saint Mary's College, where she earned a BA in Communication Studies; she is currently the Associate Director of Alumni Relations. Jordan still works in the Athletics Department at Notre Dame in Game & Event Management. They are making South Bend their home for now. Lexi commented, “A lot of our free time has been taken up by our brand new puppy named Rockne (named after the famous Knute Rockne of ND of course)! We love being active so having him to take on walks around both the Saint Mary's and Notre Dame campuses is really fun. Otherwise, you can find us exploring our small college town, taking road trips to the beaches of Michigan, and of course, getting back to New Mexico every chance we get!”
