Bosque Teacher Recognized in UNM's Choir Alumni Spotlight
Congratulations to Bosque Performing Arts Department leader Joanna Hart for her recognition in UNM’s Choir Alumni Spotlight. UNM is celebrating the positive impact that UNM choir alumni are having in the community.
In the recognition post, Ms. Hart said, “UNM provided opportunities for me as a musician that allowed me to be involved in all aspects of performance, and helped me grow and think about new and different ways that I could be involved in music throughout the University and the Albuquerque community. I was also given the opportunity to teach group voice classes which ignited a passion for teaching and vocal pedagogy that I didn’t know I had!”
Ms. Hart is a graduate of the Master’s Program in Vocal Performance at UNM and received her bachelor’s degree from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. She has sung roles with the Santa Fe Opera, Opera Southwest, UNM Opera Theatre, and the International Opera Academy in Rome. As a soloist with several regional orchestras, Ms. Hart has performed various opera, oratorio, musical theatre, and recital repertoire.
She joined Bosque School in 2005 as director of choirs. Ms. Hart teaches 6th, 7th, and 8th grade choirs, Treble Ensemble, and Cantate. Under Ms. Hart’s direction, the choirs at Bosque have more than doubled in size.
Congratulations for the well-deserved spotlight, Ms. Hart!
