Musical Success

Congratulations to the nearly 70 cast, crew, and techs for their work on The Drowsy Chaperone! The group, with the help of our wonderful volunteers, delivered six sold-out shows to the delight of audiences!

“It was a really beautiful show,” said Meghan Bode, Director of Mainstage & Musical Productions. “I was very proud of the kids; they worked so hard. We threw a lot of difficult choreography at them, but we really didn’t have a ton of time to stage it. So we just went super fast and everyone showed up and took care of each other.”

Unlike Mainstage, which is typically only open to upper school students, the musical was open to students in all grades to audition. Ms. Bode said she was especially proud of the upper school students who took great care to show the younger students the ropes.

She also credited the parent volunteers and stage managers for their hard work and dedication in making it all work. “I would be lost without my parent volunteers,” she said. And of the stage managers, whom she called her “brain outside my body,” Ms. Bode said, “They work. They’re there for all of it—auditions, rehearsals, performances...They’re pretty amazing.”

Congratulations to all for another stellar production!
