Seminario de español

Maria Clara Rekow’s Seminario de español class held a Skype conference with Julián Carrero, a member of the International Commission for Human Rights, who talked about his work as an attorney in this organization, dealing specifically with the peace process in Colombia and the disappeared. This is one of the enrichment activities the class has done as part of its unit on human rights.

Additionally, students researched violations of human rights in various Latin American countries through the Amnesty International web page. They also wrote letters in Spanish to the authorities in two countries (Venezuela and Nicaragua) advocating for the people whose rights have been violated.
