What if you had an opportunity to experience another culture, and it ended up challenging your understanding of the world?
Making new friends, exploring a new culture, and tasting different foods are all benefits of the Intercultural Exchange Program with our sister school in Mexico City. Each year the entire Bosque community has the opportunity to interact directly with students from Colegio Reina Elizabeth School. Some students participate by hosting a Mexican student at their home, acting as a buddy during classes, or by traveling to Mexico to stay with a host family. This program began in 2004 and has proved to be a very profound experience for students. Students in grades 6-10 can host families or be class buddies, and students in grades 7-9 can apply to travel.
2020 Intercultural Exchange Program between Colegio Reina Elizabeth and Bosque School
This is a marvelous experience that touches everyone’s life in the Bosque community. Specifically, it’s an exchange opportunity for students in the 6th-10th grades at Bosque. This year our sister school, Colegio Reina Elizabeth, in Mexico City, is sending 15-20 students to Albuquerque. From January 25-February 8, 2020, they will live with Bosque families, participate in Bosque School life, and visit cultural sites close to Albuquerque. In other words, they will get a taste of what it’s like to be a member of the Bosque community. Then, March March 15-28, 2020, a group of Bosque students and teachers will travel to Mexico City to live and study with families and students of Colegio Reina Elizabeth. We will live with Reina Elizabeth families, participate in the school life at Colegio Reina Elizabeth, and get to visit amazing cultural sites in Mexico City.
