Tassos Bareiss - Upper School Math Teacher
Tassos recently joined Bosque School as an upper school math teacher. A seasoned professional with over six years of experience as a software engineer, Tassos is passionate about fostering collaborative, project-based learning experiences in STEM education and emphasizing a culturally humble and learner-centered approach.
What's a fun or surprising fact that most people at the school might not know about you?
“I studied Kung Fu near the Shaolin temple in China for three months.”
Outside of school, how do you like to spend your free time? Any hobbies or interests you'd like to share?
“I like to write songs and make music, both solo and in bands.”
Share a brief overview of your educational and professional journey that led you to Bosque School.
“I went to a small liberal arts college in California called Pitzer. After graduating, I received a Fulbright fellowship to teach English in Laos for one year. Then, I spent seven years in healthcare tech as a software engineer. Now I’m teaching again!”
Do you have any pets?
“I have a dog named Deborah.”
Do you have any ongoing research, personal projects, or creative endeavors that you're passionate about and would like to share?
“I am working on an album of original songs right now.”
If you could give one piece of advice to your students, what would it be?
“Find hard things to do that you enjoy.”
