From Porcupines to Foxes: Bosque Alumni in the Field on Catalina Island

Recently, Donny Kelley-Currens ‘18, Bosque School field science educator and videographer, visited Katie Elder ‘08 on Catalina Island to learn more about her work with the Catalina Island Conservancy. Donny filmed Katie for an upcoming video on Bosque School’s porcupine research because she is one of two students who founded the program, and because that work was the foundation for her current work. Katie is the Wildlife Conservation Manager, and one of her many duties is researching and managing the endangered Catalina Island fox. While there, Donny says he saw many foxes and learned how similar our porcupine research protocols are to theirs. Donny filmed Katie's process, and she also spoke about how her time at Bosque School prepared her for the work she is doing now.

Stay tuned for the video!
