Tech Club
is an after-school program at Bosque that is open to high school students
wishing to enhance their knowledge about technical theatre. This club has
been open to students since the 2002-2003 school year and has had a
growing interest ever since. The experience gained in stage tools, light,
sound, and set design, production organization, scenic art, and stage
safety results in a wide range of technical abilities that can be applied
in college theatre and in life. Tech Club meets formally once a week for
two hours, though many times tech club is called upon outside of the
official weekly meetings!
Tech club is the main technical support for all the stage
productions at Bosque School, band and choir concerts, and any event in
the Black Box. To support all of these productions students involved in
tech must learn a variety of stage work. Tech Club can also be used
as an alternative to art and drama as a performing arts credit.
Any student involved in tech club at Bosque will not only walk away with
a great understanding of technical theatre, but also new friends and
wonderful memories.
