Intercultural Exchange Program
Making new friends, exploring a new culture and tasting different foods are all benefits of the Intercultural Exchange Program with our sister school in Mexico City. Each year, over 40 Bosque students interact directly with students from Colegio Reina Elizabeth School in Mexico by hosting a Mexican student at their home, acting as a buddy during classes, or by traveling to Mexico to stay with a host family. This program began in 2004 and has proved to be one of the most profound experiences a young person has. Students in grades 7-9 can apply to participate in this program.

2015-2016 Intercultural Exchange Information and Forms
It’s coming again this year! Colegio Reina Elizabeth and Bosque School are teaming up to create the 12th Intercambio de 2015-2016. On Wednesday, September 30, more than 40 Bosque families came to get information about how their children can participate in this phenomenal educational program.
This is a marvelous experience that touches everyone’s life at Bosque. Specifically, it’s an exchange opportunity for students in the 6th-10th grades at Bosque. This year, our sister school, Colegio Reina Elizabeth, in Mexico City, is sending 18 students to Albuquerque. From January 30 to February 13, 2016, they will live with Bosque families, participate in Bosque school life and visit cultural sites close to Albuquerque. In other words, they will get a taste of what it’s like to be a member of the Bosque community. Then, from March 13 to March 25, 2016 a group of students and teachers from Bosque will go to Mexico City to be with Colegio Reina Elizabeth. We will live with Reina Elizabeth families, participate in the school life at Colegio Reina Elizabeth and get to visit amazing cultural sites in Mexico City.
At the informational meeting, we went over all aspects of the Exchange like hosting a student here, traveling to Reina Elizabeth with the group, and other opportunities to participate in activities when the students are in Albuquerque.
The application deadline is Thursday, October 22. Students hoping to travel to Mexico must also have two teachers fill out a recommendation form, so students should be working with teachers in a timely way to secure these forms.
