The goal of the Bosque School Energy STARS (Students Teaching About Resource Saving) is to reach out to both the school community and the Albuquerque local community to teach about energy. The Energy STARS meet during MS Activity Block and occasionally after school to learn about, then teach others about forms and sources of energy, energy efficiency and conservation, solar power, wind power, hydrogen power, and demonstrate energy transfer with the famous energy bike. We strive to understand and raise awareness about ways to lower our school’s carbon footprint – saving resources and saving money.
The Energy STARS have been Nationally Recognized as Junior School of the Year by NEED (National Energy Education Development) as a part of the Youth Achievement Program. (www.need.org)
