College Guidance
Overview
The college guidance office at Bosque School has seen six graduating
classes, and in that short time our students have been accepted to some
of the most selective institutions in our country. College advisement
encourages students to find the right “match,” and our students have,
at times turned down the most selective schools in order to attend an
institution that better suits their needs.
College guidance at the Bosque School is intimate, informative, and
individualized. The mission of the department is to assist both
students and parents with identifying suitable schools, taking the
appropriate standardized tests, essay writing, and applying for need
based financial aid and merit scholarships. Students work closely with
their faculty and college counselor to plan a strong program of study
commensurate with their ability, interests, and future plans. All
Bosque graduates enroll in four-year colleges and universities.
Formal structured preparation for the college search takes place in a
student’s junior and senior year. Students are required to attend
weekly college seminar meetings with their college counselor in order
to learn about the application process, research institutions, write
college essays, and remain organized throughout the application
process. Our faculty, students and parents work together throughout a
student’s career at Bosque to insure each student is prepared for life
after Bosque.
