Middle School Service Learning
All Bosque School middle school students attend a Service Learning class once every two weeks where they engage in volunteer projects with their classmates. Each grade focuses their time on projects associated with a particular theme:
6th Grade Environmental Awareness
Bosque School 6th graders focus on their school and local environmental community. They manage the recycling and lost-and-found programs on campus and help take care of the natural environment surrounding our campus.
7th Grade Hunger Awareness
The 7th graders concentrate on community hunger by completing the full-cycle of food distribution in our community. The students work with food production by planting and growing produce and they volunteer at a local food bank and food pantry to understand distribution. The focus is on learning about the need in the community and working on solutions to provide more food to the poor. Read about

8th Grade Literacy
Bosque 8th graders work on strengthening literacy among our community’s at-risk youth. By partnering with local Head Start programs, our 8th graders read and do activities with pre-school children, developing friendships with their young “buddies” and inspiring them to develop a love of reading.
