College Guidance
Since the first graduating class in 2001, the college guidance office at Bosque School guided our alumni through the college discovery, testing, application, interview and acceptance processes. Bosque students have been accepted to some of the most selective institutions in the United States and abroad. 
College advisement encourages students to find the right “match,” and our students have, at times, turned down the most selective schools in order to attend an institution that better suits their needs and interests.
College guidance at Bosque School is intimate, informative and individualized. The mission of the department is to assist both students and parents with identifying suitable schools, taking the appropriate standardized tests, essay writing, and applying for need-based financial aid and merit scholarships. Students work closely with their teachers and college counselor to plan a strong program of study commensurate with their ability, interests and future plans. All Bosque graduates enroll in four-year colleges and universities. Through their academic and extra-curricular achievements, our graduating classes are receiving over $1 million in merit scholarships each year, averaging approximately $22,000 per student.
Formal, structured preparation for the college search takes place in a student’s junior and senior year. Students are required to attend weekly college seminar meetings with their college counselor in order to learn about the application process, research institutions, write college essays, and remain organized throughout the application process. Our faculty, students and parents work together throughout a student’s career at Bosque to insure each student is prepared for life after Bosque.

Congratulations to the Class of 2012!
Congratulations to the Bosque School Class of 2012 as you venture out into the world and discover new things. Beginning your post-secondary education will be exciting and challenging. 
The class of 2012 earned a total of $1.443 million in merit scholarships, averaging $22,000 per student. These ambitious students were collectively admitted to 123 universities and have chosen to study at 42 of these post-secondary institutions. The class of 2012 has two Commended Scholars, two National Hispanic Scholars, and 21 ACT Distinguished Scholars.

Bosque School received the “2008 College Readiness Award” from the New Mexico ACT Council for increasing the number of students taking the ACT Assessment over the past five years and significantly increasing their level of achievement and college readiness. Only 10 high schools in New Mexico were honored for this superior level of accomplishment.
